If you like your Marvel this will sound like music to your ears. Now if you’re a Marvel fan and own a Nintendo DS, PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii or Xbox 360 this will sound like Mary Jane Watson to Spider Man. Three days ago Marvel launched the acclaimed video game Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, which is a sequel with better graphics and level ups to its prior predecessor who made its big game debut in 2006. So if you’re into “roll playing” this is a perfect game for you. Now, if you team up with 3 more buddies then you can start bragging about creating your own Marvel team and what you stand for.
The first Ultimate Alliance game was based upon Nick Fury sending a distress call to Marvel super heroes, because Dr. Doom and the Masters of Evil had launched an attack on a S.H.I.E.L.D carrier, and then you behold a “base team” and the story starts to unfold up from there. The new Ultimate Alliance is base upon the Civil War that arouses between two Marvel super hot shots and there you go to choose your side. Either you stand along Iron Man and “other cool dudes” to support the Pro-Registration Act; or you team up and go rogue with Captain America and “friends” to take sides for the Anti-Registration Act. Either way, you’ll have to battle your way thru to see what unfolds when you pick and defend your side.
So what’s next? Both of these Marvel video game editions go thru big stories where you get to play and meet different Marvel characters and villains of all types interwoven in different conflicts and chaos, and the new Civil War twist in the video game is no exception to the rule. So what’s the idea behind the idea of the Ultimate Alliance? Well, we can say that these kind of “role playing” games are a great way to catapult Marvel characters into a movie. With Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America and Deadpool on the works for movies, rumors have started to build up on a Black Panther, Sub-Mariner, Ant Man, Dr. Strange, Venom, Magneto and the roadmap to the Avengers looks likely more clear now for future movies. Most of these “Marvel stars” have main roles as playable characters in these video games while other have cameo appereances. So if you get the picture, besides playing something sweet, this is a great way to know your Marvel and the springboard for future Marvel blockbusters seem to start to boost up from here.
