Vizier Speaks out: Prince of Persia Movie will be a sand mess!!!

The Vizier: A traitor to the Maharajah's service who tricks the Prince to open the forbidden Hourglass.

This is dedicated for ALL you fans out there, who devoted passion and hours of game play time into the Prince of Persia video games, regardless of which game platform of choice you used. There is a huge expectation out there for the Prince of Persia upcoming Movie, and I mean HUGE! I tell you this: On May 2010 expect no more than cheesy lines, dull story, and worst of all characters that never appeared in the game story! If I would be lying, then the Vizier wouldn’t pissed that Ben Kingsley is going to perform Nizam, not the Vizier, and Farah? Who the hell is Farah to the movie director Mike Newell and producer Jerry Bruckheimer anyway???  Oh I forgot, it will be Tamina not Farah.  Get it? The Sands of Time is not yet released and it’s starting with the wrong foot!

But my biggest concern here are two BASIC MAJOR things more than anything:

1)  It’s a Disney movie for God’s sake!  For a start don’t get me wrong, I loved Pirates of the Caribbean, but back then that movie was inspired by a Disney theme park attraction, not a video game!  My worry here is not that Disney can handle movies, but that Disney along with Bruckheimer want to replicate the know how of POTC into the Prince of Persia Movie, and that is a whole different deal. When The Sands of Time video game came out it was rated T, then came out Warrior Within which was rated R, and much later came out the third installment: The Two Thrones which was rated R as well.  So if Disney and Bruckheimer are planning a Prince of Persia Trilogy, the BIGGEST question here is: Can Disney handle gore, mutilation, extreme violence and nudity as part of the video game franchise to the Prince of Persia fans?

2)  Checking out the video game interview in youtube to movie director Mike Newell and Jake Gylenhaal as the Prince, I find out that these guys have no clue what so ever about the The Sands of Time video game, and that leads me to pop out the second BIGGEST question: Have these guys ever played and finished the Prince of Persia video games??? It’s different when as a movie director or actor they give you to tell a story, then when you have experienced and lived it. If video game movies are going to be a Hollywood trend, then directors, producers, actors and actresses should play the “game” before even bothering in tell us video game fans, how the story goes.

  1. The nice thing about sequels to successful games is that all the rough edges are buffed out, and The Two Thrones honors its graceful hero with impeccable controls and design.

Yes the 2 thrones was great. However to me Warrior Within was breathtaking! As a matter of fact I did the 2 endings.
The Dahaka was one tough bastard hard to beat if you did it all in the hardest mode. But as I said, games were great,
can day deliver the essence into a movie? Can Disney pull off the gore? Don’t think so.

Actually Pirates of the Caribbean was originally suppose to me monkey island movies but when they got canceled they later got modified into a movie about the attraction.

You’re absolutely right, it’s the damn trial work out that Disney does. Hope they don’t screw Marvel up, cause Prince of Persia doesn’t look
    good to where its going
